About Safja
INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
SAFJA is the national representative body of the South African juice industry. Our manufacturing members are processors, blenders, bottlers and packers of juice products as well as bulk pulps, purees and concentrates. Our members include companies associated with and supporting the industry such as suppliers and service providers.
In addition the industry supplies a variety of by-products such as cells, oils, aromas and pomace.

Approximately 25% of our juices are exported worldwide

OBJECTIVES
- To create a regulatory environment through interaction with all Government Departments which encourages sustainability and growth of the industry
- To support wealth generation and upliftment of local communities within a sustainable natural environment
- Protect the interests of the industry and its consumers by implementing world class regulations and industry self-regulatory initiatives to ensure compliance and integrity of products
- To promote the industry and fruit juice products through the education of consumers and science-based information in respect of the health benefits of fruit juice
- To encourage product and technological innovation and access latest industry knowledge as well as marketing and consumer information through international networks and linkages
